Intro

Over a decade ago, the Sheriff’s Office of Carson City was collecting data and information in a manual way, and not doing anything with it. Then they discovered a strategy management tool, which helped them to set their strategy, align to it, and make informed decisions. But In 2019, that strategy tool was phased out of the market and Kathie Heath, the Business Manager for the Sheriff’s Office of Carson City, began a search for a better, more versatile program. That program would have to fit their needs and provide real actionable information and insight—all of which would be used to make good decisions about how, when, and why to use city resources.

“I started by searching the internet for KPI solutions and wasn’t finding anything that fit. I then searched for balanced scorecard solutions, since we use the performance methodology. And that led me to Spider Impact,” said Kathie.

Of critical importance in the selection of a solution?

  1. Integration ease
  2. Affordability
  3. The ability to meet the Sheriff’s Office where they already were on their 10-year-long strategy and performance management path
  4. Data needed to be easily accessible and allow users to see trends
  5. Support for unlimited number of measures and objectives as they already had over 400 measures.

Seeing a great fit between Spider Impact and the needs of the Sheriff’s Office, Kathie decided to test drive the software.
